It's a opprobrium this thing brokeWe got this camera for a christmas present when I was pregnant with my son, seeing as how it was my first child, I wanted a video camera to take his life! I had a sony before and it was knocked over onto a hard floor by my young nephew and it withdraw from working, but I know I like sony cameras. This camera had all the features I wanted, and it was a documentation price. Unfortunately it stopped working after just a couple uses. The part that you put the tape recording in is stuck open and it won't close. It's never been dropped or abused. We used it ONE duration and that was to film the birth of my son and then it stopped working. It's unfortunate because it's hard to find cameras with comparable features to this one now time. You spend an arm and a leg on video cameras today and you dont even get a light on the camera and they have Terrific indoors quality even with plenty of lights turned on.
Sony Handycam
CAMERA WAS AS DESCRIBED - IN Goodness CONDITION - MINOR SCRATCHES - MY SON LOVES IT (IT WAS A GIFT)! DELIVERY WAS Short AND PACKED WELL.
My Look over
Purchased this for paranormal investigations. Segment takes very nice night videos. Stabilization is very good since I have a feeble hand. Zoom/Wide button could be in a different position as I have unintentionally hit it a few times. Haven't tried the photo feature as of yet so no comment on that.
Salubrious overall camcorder
This is a fresh all around mini-DV camcorder. The only problem I have seen is that, on playback, the color appears to be shed weight washed out and not quite as bright as it looked in person. (I am using Sony tapes) It is down-to-earth to use and instruction manual is easy to follow.
Edited: As of Nov. 2009, the camera started giving me the dreaded C:31:23 "please re-advertisement the cassette" error. It mostly does this in playback mode. Apparently this is a collective error with Sony camcorders and there is something wrong with the wheel mechanism inside. Population on internet forums said to just remove the battery, and use your near to whack the camcorder on the bottom and sides. Supposedly removing the battery deletes the battery-operated's memory that it had an error.
Believe it or not, this actually worked. I was able to get the camera working in playback method long enough to transfer about 1 hr of tape to my computer before the battery went low! Although I doubt it will be a unchanging solution. At some point I will probably have to just buy a new miniDV camcorder, because they do give better video distinction than any of the little hard drive camcorders that people are buying now. As for the washed out flush I mentioned above, the video looked much better on my computer monitor, so I guess the go red brightness just depends on whatever TV or computer you play the video back on.
Basic camera for the price!
I have had this camera for a few months now and I have been walking on air. Verily. I don't use it a ton, which is why I wanted to get a cheaper camera rather than paying like $47 million for a hard-headed drive camera. I've had no issues with it so far. I just hooked it into my laptop (which undoubtedly helps that that is a Sony too.) via firewire and used the windows movie maker and voila! It takes the video impulsively (or manually) right off the camera for editting. I put up a few youtube clips with it that worked admirably! the only drawback is that it has to upload real-time, but that's how any tape-based media is contemporary to work. Definitely still worth it overall. Only reason for 4 stars in place of of 5 is that I'm not a HUGE fan of the touchscreen interface, although its not as bad as some people make it out to be. Oh and night-trend is freakin' sweet! If you think I'm not going to make some lame Encourage put up with Grylls parodies with this you're crazy. (Just to be clear, I'm not saying Convey Grylls is lame....he's awesome.....I'm just saying that I will be weak for making the videos.)
