My dad likes it!
I got this camcorder as a facility for my father. He is an amateur in video, so I wanted a camera to be easy in use.
My primogenitor says he likes this SONY video camera very much. It has a really powerful zoom, and its video is kind-hearted when recording both inside and outside. He understands the camera tools with unhurried.
Before writing this review I asked my father if he had any dissapointments with the camcorder. He said no, and he said he would not like to get any other camcorder. He likes this one!

Not Macintosh good-natured
This is a moll of mine's new camera. He is not real computer literate. So he asked me to get the video out of it so he could show some of it on YouTube and the like. And with my Mac I had done this several other times with other video cameras. But this camera is despicable with a Mac. I downloaded the manual and it does not help either. I Googled the internet and saw ALL the steps to do it. And I am getting it done now but it takes FOREVER and FOREVER.... I will not do do it with this camera again.

This is the ONLY info I have on this camera, since I did NOT shoot with it. The downloaded vade-mecum did not help me at all and to use with a Mac is ridiculous!

Superb Product
Unhurried to use. I bought a refurbished one but it looks brand new and works great! I'm very elated with this purchase.

Shapely camcorder
I extraordinarily like the size of this camcorder, plus the fact that it goes straight away to the DVD. The one thing I dislike is that the lens cover does not automatically unrestrained and shut. I have had mine one year now and the lens cover will not close at all. You need to be sure-fire that the small DVD's will work in your DVD player also.

Hell of Junk you will regret owning
what a wedge of crap. this coming from a lifetime sony handycam user. There is a glitch that interferes with camera during playback on camera that always locks of hair in the disaster of loosing all your footage.. has error message Movie recording diabled. Ruins the disc and all videos magically dissappear from camera. Sony's website and face nor any website can accureately tell me how to stop it from doing this. so annoying. Straight lost great footage I will never get back of baby 1st and my m.i.l lost her whole hawaii erratum. Worst handy cam ever I highly recommend getting the dcr-sr45. so much punter. totally plug and play and has awesome software and you can upload videos online or to facebook. if this were my camera and not my spoil in laws I would throw it in the trash. Pics that it takes look worse than my first cellphone camera. I recollect this camera confuses itself due to card inputs and disc drive. Don't think me???Google message movie recording disabled

Real Accessory Kit
I've enjoyed my camera. It's very hands down to use. What I love about it was the accessory kit that came with it with the exception of the mini tri-pod. It broke as a moment as we took it out of the box. The carrying case is great and can hold the accessories that conclude with it. It was nice to not have to go out and buy an extra battery and figure out what DVDs to buy for it. The 8GB memory bulge was a nice bonus as well as the battery charger that plugs directly into the try outlet. My sister-in-law got the same camera for Christmas, but without the kit. Her carrying case was a lot smaller and she was irritating to use it but didn't have the right DVDs or the memory stick or extra mobile. I was so glad I did.

For a camcorder (Sony Handycam), do conversion lenses improve video quality?

I have a Sony handycam DCR-DVD610 DVD and I want to increase the video angle to get a larger shot. But will this affect the video quality? I plan to get a SONY VCL-0630X DIGITAL CAMERA WIDE CONVERSION LENS, can any one help?

A better lens does not necessarily improve image quality. The wide angle lens will help you videotape a larger area wthout having to get far away from the subject. How this affects video quality is that since it looks farther away then there will be less detail.

What really affects the image quality is the image sensor the camera has and the media you are recording it on. A bigger image sensor or a 3CCD array will render a better picture. For the media your choice of DVD does not render good image quality after you record it.

So buying a wide angle lens will only affect the image quality by showing less detail. Getting closer will have more detail but if you want to show a wider angle then that will be fine with you.
