Sony digital 8 camcorder DCR-TRV250 overview and reason not to buy

I bought this digital 8 camcorder belief it could playback the Hi8 and 8mm, to find out it doesn't, none of the later mpdels after 2003 does ...

I'm having trouble hooking up my camera to my computer...?

I have a Sony DCRTRV250 Digital8 Camcorder and I'm trying to extract videos out of it when I plug it in to the USB drive but nothing is showing up in my computer. I got to Control Panel and click Add Hardware but i do that and it doesn't work. Please Help

DID YOU INSTALL the software? The camera came with...if you lost it maybe you can find it on Sony's website...
BUT People think if they plug things into the computer without software they'll work Hehe
Maybe you should hook the USB cord up to the solts in the back of your computer...or try a different USB port maybe some mice got hungry? LOL
that is if its one of the regular USB ports...if not you may have to go to the website and order one =^(

SOrry!! BACK TO YOUR PROBLEM if that doesn't work...
SOME CAMERAS DO THAT YOU SHOULD buy a mini card reader and just hook the memory card up to the computer instead of the whole camera that what I did because my camera only seemed to work "sometimes"
i got it from Best Buy for about 12 dollars you just take the memory card out of the camera and put it in the card reader
