Customer Reviews
Hairy older generation camera!I have a newer manifestation of this camera that is Digital. I wanted an inexpensive model that could handle my 20 year old non-digital tapes for transport and editing. This was a very cost effective way to do that, and it is a good camera as well.
It arrived on the double and in the condition described. So there were no problems with the seller at all.
Impressed
I purchased the CCD-TRV68 back in 2001 and have found it to be an Supreme camcorder. I used this camera for shooting videos for broadcasting, interviews, traveling documentary genre videos, not to mention family stuff. I have used this poor camera tirelessly over the last 8 years and it has never messed up to work properly for me. I would recommend it to anyone. The ONLY downside is there is no option to attach an apparent microphone cord.
Don't plan on using this camcorder for large...
We acclimated to this camcorder about 3 times before it died. It would no longer record properly. It captured audio but not video (ended up with a perplexed screen video capture.)
The problem lies with a buggy CCD chunk assembly. The same problem can be seen with similar Sony camcorder models. These camcorders watch over to develop the blank screen issue anywhere from 6 months to 2 years after purchasing.
There are reports all over the internet about this problem but Sony denies that it's a manufacturing issue and wanted 200+ to service. I wouldn't get this camcorder (or any other Sony camcorder) again.
An 'ok' Buy
I recieved this camera as a ability and used it 6 times before the amplifier went out, so that when you were watching your videos-you got strong, but no picture. This happened with our first camera, but you could see the video but there was no sound-also the amplifier. Unfortunatly it didn't disappointing collapse under warranty so we have a broken camera lying around and must buy a new one. I give it three stars because for the time that I was competent to use it, it was a great camera. If you do decide to buy this one-maybe think about an extended guarantee?
Morality camera for the price - but make sure you check specs
I bought this camera slightly familiar in mint condition and I'm fairly impressed with it. The steadyshot function and nightshot are major features. However, I'm selling it, because you cannot take still shots, and it costs you an extra [money amount]for a media converter if you fancy to review/edit your videos on your computer. But, it is a good camera if you like watching relaxed videos on your TV.
