Ardent Camera!I owned this camera for a protracted time and I absolutely loved it. I Don't know what that other guy with the bad review is talking about, saying this camera has grainy pictures. It is analog so the video is not as starkly as digital, but for an analog camera the video is great. I would recommend this camera to any one who wants a worthwhile analog camera with great features and who is not ready to delve into the digital fantastic.
Is it Sony ?
Bought this tested for a day, the illustrate quality is awful. Recorded video had lots of grains in environment lights (even in a small room with 100 watts bulb), more yellowish even in lustrous (sun) light. Hoped the one I got might be bad, and exchanged for a new one. That was also the same quality. Had for a good deal (abt $200), and it is not significance for that money. Returned within hours.
Already own few Sony products (including 4 yrs old camcorder Hi8 TRV68), which are right in quality, made me think all the Sony products are awesome.
Video quality is the conduit thing needed in a camcorder, so rated 1.
Very contented with it
When our 8mm stopped working that we had toughened for nine years, I found it overwhelming to research and find a new camera.
I knew I didn't covet digital because I don't even use my digital still camera very often, other than to e-mail pictures.
I knew that I wanted another 8mm, so that we could deprecate our tapes we have now. I didn't want to spend too much money. We received this camera a duo of weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. It even has more options than I really need. We charged the mobile when we got the camera and for 2 weeks we have been filming the kids occasionally and the battery is still full. I never pondering I would use the night vision, but have found it is fun to film the kids when they are asleep and I don't have to turn a lighter on to film. The zoom works well and the color looks good. For the prize, I don't see how you could get a better camera. I don't think you could find a better analog camera even if you did spend more percentage. I obviously can't comment on how well it will hold up in the future, but as far as its performance now, I love it.
