Works Well for the Assay
This Samsung Camcorder is a proficient option for someone who wants to get something simple and easy to use that does the job and isn't very expensive.

The carbon copy quality is good. For beginners, it is probably easier to use than some other cameras out there but you still essential to have a little finesse to figure it out. There aren't many buttons and it's not too involved yet you have to campaign the button a certain way to forward and rewind. You can't just push it- so that can be a skimpy confusing at first...If you haven't used one like this before.

Other than that pretty simple. Lenient to hook up to TV and play back. Also take photos. Comes with remote control.

Lightweight, quiet to use, not expensive. Does the job and haven't had much of a problem with it.

I'd say it's a good deal for the consequence.

Be wary! Does not play tapes from other mini DV camcorders
Be cautious! Do not buy Samsung SC-D382 if you want to use it to play tapes that you recorded on another camera! The Samsung will not do the job. Video is jittery and the audio screeches. Samsung acknowledges this, but they stick it in a little note back on era 44 of their manual: "We recommend that you use this camcorder to play back any [sic] tapes recorded on this camcorder. Playing back a cassette recorded in other equipment may produce mosaic shaped distortion." Shifty! A call to Samsung quickly confirmed this. Samsung should have been much more clear about this limitation, especially since they have rolled out this produce at the end of the mini DV cycle.

Tuneful good camera
This is a pulchritudinous good camera for planning out shots for an independent film. However, I wouldn't advocate it for youtube or home videography use because the image is very dark and grainy. Like I said, the only valid use for this low quality camera is planning out shots that will be filmed with a much better camera later on.

The "Johnny-known-lately" of mini DV cams
This is the most void piece of gear I've got in my arsenal by far. It loads from THE BOTTOM! Who'd uh thunk it. Little feller is so imperfect too. Hope I don't scare it. Woof :) Strange menu system makes for enchanting operation attempts. Meets my basic needs in a miniDV though.
