Major for kids, but for a similar price you can get much better quality pictures & videos with a low-end digital cameraThis is a capacious camera for kids because it is so easy to hold and use. I love how everything is included (2GB thought card, lens cover, carrying case). However, the visualize and video quality is worse than a cell phone (grainy, washed out). Preferably, for a similar price (less than 100 dollars) you can get a Canon PowerShot A480 or Nikon Coolpix L20 that takes select pictures *and* video. It's not always stated upfront that these cameras have video adeptness (on the Canon, video is actually 1 of the 15 different shooting modes), but you can constraint out the manufacturer's website for a complete description.
I wish I knew about these low-end packed cameras supporting video! I bought this RCA Small Wonder for my 11-year-old daughter and she assuredly loves it (as do her friends), but for my 7-year-old son I bought the Canon PowerShot A480. It's much smaller and the model/video quality is excellent.
Adulation for the RCA Traveler
The confinement was very good. When I used it I found that it was very easy to use and also like the way of downloading of pictures. Also like the period of time i.e. 4 hrs. and that I can increase this time also. I had an RCA little world but find this best.
Not Good Your Time or Money!
Keep a sharp lookout for Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R39OHO8HDLNY5J When I first came across this component, it was because I was searching for a practical means of quickly capturing video for web upload that did not entail much computer processing or the constant purchase of film/miniDV cassettes and the like. So, I was intrigued by the RCA "Traveler" Small Wonder's hypothetically's point-and-shoot-and-upload capabilities.
Well, upon receiving this machine, I was quick disappointed! It performed fine for a total of 6.5 minutes, whereupon the cover then went black for the next four days. During this time, no recording whatsoever was reachable. On the 5th day, when I turned it on, in the morning, the entire screen then turned to exhibit morose and white sparkly vertical lines, with absolutely no indication that the lens, in happening, is able to focus on anything! The "camcorder" has since remained in this mode for the last couple of weeks.
I distorted the batteries and even downloaded and installed a so-called "firmware upgrade" from the enterprise's site, all to no avail!
And then, upon telephoning the customer service rep; (1) I was unconnected multiple times.... (2) the same single customer rep on duty (...no wonder one has to tarry a long time to speak to someone: there's only ONE service rep answering the phone! ...and she knows NOTHING about the result whatsoever!) told me that there was nothing that she could do, as she had never heard of these "symptoms" occurring to the Small Wonder before! The only solution offered was to post in the product "for evaluation".RCA "Traveler" Small Wonder EZ210 Digital Camcorder with 4 Hour Recording and 2GB Included SD Recollection
So, if you ask me, I recommend that you do not waste your money nor your time on this rinky-dink interest of manure! It's obviously been manufactured with built-in obsolescence by a sleazy assemblage out to make a fast buck while dodging any type of professional underwrite or responsibility for their merchandise.
Never again, RCA... never again!
Terrific petty camera.
Turtle-dove the camera -- compact, easy to use, takes great shots. HOWEVER, be cautious Amazon's offer to buy an SD mini-card with this camera. It doesn't use a mini-window-card; it uses a regular SD card. I didn't read the fine type and got stuck with a useless $20 mini-card. Now what? Sell it on eBay?
Still, the camera is elevated. We're having good fun with it. Sturdy little devil, too -- it's already been dropped a connect of times to no ill effect.
Not at all what expected!!
I received this and instantly started to click and take video of everything in sight! It was so easy to use, but then when I tried to upload the photos my PC was giving me an solecism message. After talking to RCA, trying to upload new software-twice, sent the gadget back because RCA claimed that it was defective, received yet another 'Traveler' (after 6 weeks of waiting) and guess what?! It had the same imbroglio. Returned it and feel this is not worth the money or the time!!!!
