Customer Reviews
sizeable quality mini dv camcorder
this was my first ever camcorder, this example dropped in price and can be picked up for around $200-300.
As mentioned in many online reviews the go red is very accurate, but issues with low light. I never had to shoot in low light, but I did purchase a Bescor MX-601 berate kit for $90 that fits on the hotshoe (get the 40w version with 2 20w bulbs is right enough to film an outside patio scene with approx 15-20ft max understandability NOT on zero lux setting which is very choppy but actually using the regular alfresco low light setting.
Also, because this cam uses miniDV, suggest getting the Panasonic Master series tapes or other squiffed quality tapes and stick to one brand. there has been issues of switching miniDV strap brands and getting residue buildup on the heads. If this happens, there are minidv headman cleaning kits that should fix this up (getting a lot of dropped frames during playback). I like the big chubby feel, other smaller HDDs are light, but this I believe adds to a lot of camera shiver. Oh did I mention the image stabilization is super. You will be happy with this cam.

Other than camcorder for your everyday use!
This camcorder has many features to concupiscence and can be used for everyday use in many conditions. This is the second camcorder I've had in this range and am extremely pleased with it. The only negative thing about it is the low resolution still camera functionality it has at 3.1 MP. Otherwise a loving terrible buy with good clarity, saturation, optical zoom and features.

Only worked for about 4 weeks in the last year and a partly
I was looking hurry to using this highly rated camera for taking video of our new son. Unfortunately, the camera strap mechanism went out after the first 4 months and I had to send the camera to Illinois to be repaired, and also to get the fillet out of the camera. The camera was out for 6 weeks. The refurbished camera lasted approx. 6 more months, sent it back again and this everything it cost me $168 to have it refurbished. Now after a couple of months the camera is showing a pale-complexioned LCD screen and will not function at all.
Time to give up on Panasonic. Their customer service is non-existant and getting the camera repaired again seems like a gnaw of time.

First deal for the price!
I did a lot of inspect before buying the PV-GS250. Now that I have the camera in my hands I know I made a great selection. Great image quality. Great build quality. The low underweight problems you read about are not really a big deal. In a noramlly lit room everything is bonzer.

PV-GS250 Hits a territory run with me!!!
I girlfriend my new camera!!! This is my first video camera and there is definitely no buyers mortification here. It is soooo user friendly!I researched many cameras and found this one to be most suitable for my requests. My company was subcontracted to work with another production company and my camera (PV-GS250) was Euphemistic pre-owned as a secondary camera for b-roll and it was fabulous. The footage was almost seamless between the two cameras when it was being edited. I'm very auspicious with my purchase and look forward to using it more and more.
