Proprietary video plan is annoying
So the camera is nicely sized, takes righteous video, all that is great.

where I run into problems is doing stuff with those videos.

My powermac G5 doesn't substantiate it at all - need the latest version of ilife and that is not compatible with PPC. Great.

The software on windows allows me to vision, but if I try to upload to youtube - it fails, says connection failed. My consistency to youtube is fine. Now I gotta scour the web looking for how to get the vids up. I can't well-deserved watch the videos with windows media player, avi players like quicktime, etc. That's maddening.

Would be better if you could just get the vids.

anyone know how to play or transcode/alter MTS files?
In the seventh heaven videographer
I bought this for the reveal purposs of being able to videoing my wife's Orchestra and putting it online. The first presentation is in a week so I cant wait. All the "playcordings" I have done with this to get used to handling it have turned out noteworthy. I was real impressed after we had a foot of snow and I could set the w-balance where I, underline I wanted it to be to overstate my recordings. They turned out great. If you use it right it does show up pretty satisfactory in low light. I love the manual controls that is the reason I bought it. Platform lights suck for automatic cameras.
Mind-boggling picture quality, extensive features
Arrant camcorder choice, if you are willing to pay the steep price. Definitely prosumer vicinage. Impeccable picture quality (look for some of the extensive analyses and reviews published online), superior sound. Unbelievable performance in low-light conditions. Great set of features. Only defect thus far: some may find touch screen a bit fiddly to use (no problem for me, since I am used to my touch wall off phone).
Jamaica Retirement community Videos
Bought this camera for our misstep to Jamaica. I really like this camera. It is very portable and easy to use. The calibre of the videos is amazing. I am not a avid user of video cameras but this was leisurely to learn. I download all videos and pictures to my PC with ease. One of the great things is the camera does not have a straight drive. It is only flash memory. Therefore, it does not have to "boot" up like a incontrovertible drive video camera. I can turn it on and starting capturing video right away. I am VERY happy with this purchase.
Refined "B" cam
This camera is a gratifyingly "B" cam, I use it for behind the scene shots, car mounting and time lapse work. It does call a TON of light, but most small HD cams do. So with this said the outdoor shots are amazaing, indoors so so. Indoors it scarcely wants all the light it can get, so this usually means gain city = suggestion city. I don't like to go above 3 db of gain, if that's not possible I turn the cam off. Not worth the be honest space. It takes some time adjusting to the manual controls via insufficient buttons and touch screen, but VERY nice to have in depth manual restraint for a cam in this price point (iris, white balance, shutter, fuzzy, and audio!). I've seen the footage displayed on a 50" HD flourish and was very pleased. The detail is amazing, I usually roll in auto focus, instructions iris/ white bal, the auto focus is very quick for the most part. Again light is your patron. Make sure you get a nice ( don't cheap out, get the Century) wide seek and a polarizer. All in all it's a nice HD CAM for what your are paying for. I like the small size, and freestyle life (got a 4 hr batt, lasts forever), and the AVCHD workflow is a cinch in FCP. Also just as a tip, be sure to turn off the OIS if doing any tripod work. Most population forget and this results in the gryos (OIS) fighting the smoothness of a tripod. Honourable luck and have fun with it!

Proven & Ravishing HDC
When it comes to dish out money I have to be sure I will get something back, it may be money in return or satisfaction. Well this camcorder has giving me both, I had old it for a year and a half and during this period I have gone to several pleasure trips (Puerto Rico, Marvy Cayman, etc) and now I have those great memories inside my PC and also into edited DVDs, and I have sell several documental about the naturals resources of Puerto Rico. So I have enjoyed this camera while I have made some kale...

Unfortunately I sold it 2 weeks ago with the unlucky idea of get the new HDC-TM700 but I have had several problems, from the audio (it is very clangorous in a quite environment) to the editing process...

Now I have to find the way to get back to my proven and lovely HDC-TM300S.

Very Carefree to Use
What I like to most about this HDC-TM300S is the Coupй Mode result, you do not have to do a thing besides pressing the record button... the camcorders always find the way to put the trounce setting available to get the most out of the condition.
Portentous Picture Quality!
I have use this correct HDC-TM300 (Import) camcorder for over a year now with great success, I hand-me-down to have a mini DV Sony camcorder standard definition but since I change it for the Panasonic was like the start of a new era... all the features that this HD camcorder is expert to do is really impressive, for most of the regular consumers out there those functions and features will never be lay eyes on or use but for people who wants to get the most out of a good scene this is the camcorder to have. In reference with the covenant been valid in Japan I was concern at the beginning but if you get the camera in good (preferable NEW) equip it will never have a problem, I have used mine for many hours 2 or 3 days a week for over a year already and lodge likes the first day.

If you can get one for $1000 or less it will be a great deal, if not just wait a couples of months for the upcoming HDC-TM350 which has a treacherous internal SD/SDHS (64GB) memory and some improvement in the Optical Statue Stabilization system.

Problem With Fan Ruckus . . .
The camera is close. However, I wanted to use it for making how-to videos, and my recordings are made in a quiet environment. Upon playing back the first few check up on recordings, I kept hearing this noise, and I wondered if there was something in the room making it . . . like a computer fan or peradventure the printer. But no, it's the fan in the camera itself. This is really a little incomprehensible to me, that a camera in this worth range would have a microphone that picks up fan noise from the camera itself. From other reviews, I can see that this is not a quandary for others, especially if you normally record in a relatively noisy environment. However, if you platter confidentially in a quiet environment, you will get a constant background noise when you play it back . . . and this is the thunder from the fan. I returned the camera because of this. It's unfortunate, because I like everything else about it. Having the constant toil of fan noise in my videos is just not something that works for me.
Most Panasonic of All Times
I got to indicate you that if you are looking for the best camcorder ever created by Panasonic this is the one! The low light is the best on the sell, sound quality insuperable, very portable, and easy to use. The only criticism I have is with the included software because it's too primary for editing & only helpful for transferring data to your PC, this is why I'm giving only 4 stars to it.
Personal property present and brighter future
Although Panasonic as a matter of course has new things in mind for 2010, the company clearly felt a `last hurrah' for the existing beginning was in order. And so we have the HDC-TM350, a limited edition update of the TM300.

There are essentially three differences between the two models.

1) The TM350 has charmed advantage of the ever-decreasing cost of flash memory, and now comes with 64GB as a substitute for of 32GB. This means it can store over 8.5 hours of footage even at the top quality habitat.

2) The other two differences to the TM300 are less immediately obvious. The Advanced OIS image stabilization has presumably been improved, so the Active Mode is more effective at smoothing out the effects of a walking cameraman. Effective Mode is an extra OIS setting.

3) Panasonic also claims the image processor has been tweaked for mildly improved low easy performance.

As the market has shown, in the beginning of 2010 the TM350 is still selling for over $1,400 and looks like it will be there in that price or even go up until they run out of them, so by the middle of this year you won't be able to fine any of these (at least NEW) for less than $2000. On the other share Panasonic will introduce 2 new models (HDC-TM700 / HDC-HS700) that will have similar look, equivalent features but will be capable of recording in 1080p HD!!!!!!!

Panasonic HDC-TM350 Twin Media HD Camcorder Her!!!
Let me start by saying that I have had the premature model Panasonic HDC-TM300S Twin Media HD Camcorder (Silver) for over a year now and I have no complaints. Every aspect of my camcorder is A to A+, I find it very moderate to use, with great manual features, but...;

This new "Limited Edition" HDC-TM350 is almost the same camcorder. As far as the look the only unlikeness is the color (Black or Silver the previous model vs. Gray the new one) everything else is the same in show... But I have read some experts reviews and the Panasonic Specifications Manuals and there are some other personal property differences besides the ones you can see;

The Japanese HDC-TM350 is a more advanced camcorder. It includes 64GB of internal spark memory, a larger 1/4.1-inch CMOS with a 3,050,000 x 3 aggregate pixel count, a 12x optical zoom, and also offers two optical duplicate stabilization modes.

I really believe that Canon is putting a ton of bucks in marketing to compete with the huge rival Panasonic, every time you go to a web page you get the ads from Canon, even when you are reading about Panasonic or JVC you get those ADS and many residents make the mistake of believing that canon is better. If you read the experts opinion you will get a different impression, another way to look at it is the prices, you may see the prices for the VIXIA HF S10 and HF S11 abatement more than 30% in the last 3 months or so but the Panasonic prices have been steady (old HDC models) and for the new HDC-TM350 prices has been increasing since December. Today the only to hand at Amazon is selling for $1,500 and if you wait will not be an option because it is a limited print run and will be out of stock soon...

Stern expirience (eBay) - Happy Ending (Amazon)
During my last sightsee, my boyfriend brought this camcorder.I only used it for one whole day and I fell in love with this warmly expensive toy. The reason I used it was because my camcorder ran out of battery on the Eurostar carriage, and i was also curious to compare it with the quality of my HDC-HS350. I found out that the quality and all the features are the same, with the cavil that his camera is a little bit lighter in weight and the battery lasts longer. *Worthy ADVICE*- My boyfriend bought it from a Japaneese seller on eBay, but he never recieved it so, 5 period before our trip he went on Amazon and bought it again from the guys of 'HD Camcorders',and this every so often it actually arrived in THREE DAYS! Well done.

In conclusion, if you want this extraordinary camcorder buy it from a U.S. based band like Amazon.
