Customer Reviews
Don't Buy! No Bond Outside the US.
If you design any travel outside the US, don't buy this camcorder. I purchased one in August '09 to take on a Semester at Sea voyage around the everybody. We departed in late August, and at our first stop--Spain--the camcorder wouldn't deliver on through several attempts. It finally came to life, but at subsequent stops, it took longer and longer to turn on until in the end, by the end of October, the camcorder was nothing more than a paperweight. I notified JVC of the problems, and their response was, "sordid, not our problem because the failure happened outside the US." Despite the fact that I'm on a US-owned dispatch and a member of a faculty teaching 570 mostly-US students, and despite the statistics that the camera was built in Malaysia by a Japanese-owned company, JVC refuses to honor the guarantee. The video I was able to shoot is beautiful. Sadly, I've missed many unrepeatable experiences, all in the latter partially of the voyage. Check warantees carefully. Sony offers one they honor worldwide.
