JVC importance. Economic and with enough featuresI bought this camcorder at newegg (for 109 refurbished, definitely cheap right? haha) Well, this little camcorder is small and active. A few years ago one this small was several hundred dollars. This one fits in the palm of your hand, and the importance of video is great. You can learn how to use the manual settings and make the video look masterly or just use the "Auto" and let it do everything for you, except the zooming. It will adjust automatically anyway to a decent stage set. There's other settings that I haven't used such as macro (for closeups), 600X zoom (I only use the 30x visual zoom). The focus is automatic, or you can manually adjust it.
Great camera with several functions if you have however to learn them.
I like the lcd screen in the back of the camera, since the ones with the "flying wing" screens look so prosaic anyway.
Oh, and so far the battery has never run out on me, and I shoot an entire 60m tape.
The picture looks movables in my hd tv.
I am pleased with this camera. I read someone saying that this camera looks "low-priced", not at all, it has a nice chrome and metallic finish.
JVC miniDV camcorder
I bought this refurbished camcorder only to build up b act up back older miniDV tapes of our children, so I cannot comment on the recording video dignity. The playback is fine on this machine and I hope to copy all the miniDV tapes to our computer readily at some time with it. I bought it solely because one cannot buy just a miniDV player at this price point.
Usable and easy to use... but...
Although lightweight and at one's fingertips this camera isn't that good... No night vision or light, very emotional to humidity and won't turn on... zoom isn't that great... I would guide to spend a little more on something better...
Keen Product
I partiality the product. The picture quality is second to none. I love that the camera is concise and that I can point and shoot. I also like the fact that if I am holding the camera and videoing, the essence is really steady. The only thing I would like to see if the ability to plug into my computer and download.
You get what you pay for
Very careful product indeed, no complaints at all except for some "minor details" i'm about to point. First, video mark is average, don't even think to ask for HD-like video because it ain't happening, but it's okay, if i wanted an HD camcorder i would've bought one. Assign, there is no hot-shoe to attach lightning devices on it, it's amazing the lack of such key issue in a camera that has no lights!!!, so in my particular case i had to buy an adapter which attaches on the tripod mount. Gruesome design flaw there, what where JVC's engineers thinking of????. Third, ah my dear JVC friends, a Firewire cable would be a VERY Punctilious touch from you, and the cost of such device is ridiculous so you can't argue "cost reductions for competitive vend prices"... but nope, no Firewire cable included.
Consideration all of the above i'm quite satisfied with the product.
And last but no least, Amazon's service: Flawless, as established. I appreciate that.
