Description

The JVC Everio X GZ-X900 Everio X is expected to maximize every precious moment with Full HD 1920 x 1080 video or 9 Megapixel digital still images. Inventive shooting functions such as ultra-slow motion video and hilarious-speed "motor drive" still photography will expand your horizon. And all this, in a fasten on pocket-sized camera. Everio X is a slab-sided rectangle without the handgrip, protrusions or indentations found on most camcorders. The set up allows plenty of flexibility in how the camera is held - from below, above, or whatever suits the spot and the user's preference. At the heart of the camera's superior image characteristic is a 1/2.33-inch 10.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor - the to the max's first to be used in a Full HD AVCHD camera. The high quality 9 Megapixel digital stills the camera shoots correlate promptly to the un-interpolated performance of this CMOS sensor and Bayer array RGB flush filter. For the first time ever, this 10.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor is the origin of 1920 x 1080/60i Full HD AVCHD format video. The camera records at a dazzling 1000 TV lines of horizontal resolution - the theoretical maximum elevation of 1920 x 1080 Full HD.

Customer Reviews

Monstrous camera within its limitations
This is without a mistrust the best camera / video camera combination on the market. The video is totally outstanding and surpasses my prior camera the sanyo Xacti HD 1000 by far - and I regard that camera was outstanding. The photos are also brilliant with great color saturation and twin. It turns on almost instantly and the 5mp stills that can be taken while shooting video are also wonderful quality. The camera has only 2 drawbacks, a limited optical zoom and only passable low light performance. The high quality of the images does much to beat the limited optical zoom as the digital zoom can be used toover 10x with still wonderful value. Compared to my panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5, a highly rated point and pump full of lead the low light performance is similar. Bright indoor lights are no maladjusted, but dim lighting results in a grainy image. The use of a tripod or monopod has helped low skinny performance significantly. Recently shooting images at dawn with a 32x zoom on video the simultaneously recorded stills were grainy but I captured images I never reflection I could. When the lighting is better WOW! The images taken on a recent back countrytrip could be published, and the video is DVD blue blood. The image stabilization is excellent as well with good lighting. The high further pictures and video are good but also require adequate lights. Lastly, it hysteria in my front jeans pockets without too much of a bulge. In summary,it is as good as a high value point and shoot camera, and better than nearly any other video camera on the sell wrapped in a small easy to use, instant on package that can always be with you. Low light position require a tripod or monopod and the zoom is limited as well but these factors perturb less than 10% of my needs.
Dedicated Blu-Ray Videos. Does not replace Point&Shoot by any measure.
After VHS, MiniDV, and MiniDVD, this is my 4th period of camcorder. The video quality is simply great. The 5X zoom relationship is sufficient for most uses. Software supplied covers major principal chores. Tried few video processing 30 days download software and none of them recognizes the camera, but some can use the column produced by it, e.g. the .MTS AVCHD HDCAM format.

JVC hinted in printed paper guide that files can be archived into an external USB hard drive without use of a computer. The "Accessory Standard" recommends Seagate FreeAgent Desk disc. Printed manage has only 44 English pages, but electronic copy of seemingly the same detail is twice longer, and contains chapter with detailed step-by-route instructions how to copy camcorder contents to an external compatible USB spirituous disc, without use of a computer. However, I was unable to backup files directly from camcorder to outside USB drive, neither Seagate nor Western Digital USB discs are recognized. Perhaps due to the two manly/female hookup USB cables used. The requred menu "Video Log jam" never shows up on the camcorder LCD.

Surprisingly the Backup menu shows up when Everio is to the point to Western Digital WD TV Live electronic media player using fasten on cable since normal size USB connector exists on WD TV Live, but not on any superficial USB drive I have. The HD TV Live device has no internal storage, just the out of date through video to a HDTV or other USB disc. This concluses that the combination of 2 USB cables (womanly/male), to make one cable with USB mini male on both ends may not stipulate all lines and proper connection. WD TV Live media player finds and plays AVCHD encoded video files presently from the camcorder connected via USB port.

This is amazing why the cable industry did not put on yet an USB cable that would have Mini USB male connector on both ends.

I noticed there is a lot more to this camcorder that is not explained in badly written documentation. E.g. menu Low Light shooting shows up momentarily, but I was not masterly to open it, since it disapeared during menu scrolling. This setting could possibly resolve low light problems that some people complained about.
