They also record more than 10.5 hours at a nobility level comparable to a DVD camcorder’s 30-minute mode. Recording-interval capabilities for all four models in the Everio G series are impressive: The GZ-MG20 and GZ-MG40 offer 4 hours and 50 minutes of recording in days of yore at DVD quality and 25 hours at lower-resolution Internet rank; the GZ-MG30, GZ-MG50, and GZ-MG70 record for 7 hours and 10 minutes at DVD eminence and 37 hours at Internet quality.

The GZ-MG20 fits in the palm of your penmanship.

Playback is easy, too, with multiple connections allowing within easy reach TV playback, dubbing to a VCR or DVD recorder, transfer to a PC or Apple Macintosh for DVD origin, editing, or posting on the Internet, or even burned directly without a PC to a full-length silver screen DVD disc using an optional DVD burner.

The GZ-MG20 offers an impressive 4.5 hours storage at 9 Mbps, and over 7 hours at 6 Mbps. The dear-quality MPEG-2 recordings are in the same format used in DVD, so there's no quality extermination when burning them to DVD, and no time- and quality-wasting conversion.

The JVC GZ-MG20's 3D NR technology reduces video thundering by 30 percent, even in low light.
3D Noise-Reduction Technology
Customary noise reduction offers limited accuracy since it compares greensward A and field B that make up a frame with different sets of odd and even scanning words to compensate for noise. JVC’s 3D noise-reduction technology compares division A to field A, and field B to field B across two frames so that the scanning lines are selfsame and noise can be reduced more accurately. As a result, signal-to-noise relationship is improved by 2 dB and noise is reduced by about 30 percent. Flicker is eliminated and feel ashamed reproduction is improved, enhancing overall picture quality.

25x Visual Zoom with 800x Digital Zoom
With the powerful 25x zoom, an perception is enlarged 25 times without jagged edges. Images can be further enlarged up to 800x when place with the digital zoom.

Get close to the action with optical and digital zoom options.
Then Access to Recordings
The benefits of recording video to a hard disk are the same benefits that have made hard disk-based audio players so acclaimed--random access to quickly locate desired material, and the power to effortlessly delete unwanted material and easily rearrange the playback concatenation. What’s more, there’s no danger of mistakenly recording over something that’s to be saved.

Browse recorded scenes without difficulty with the thumbnail image index.

Scene selection is made easy thanks to on-riddle index images, so the large amount recorded won't become a hindrance to quick receptivity. And with remote control operation, it is possible to connect the Everio G camcorder to a TV and go it from a distance, just like a DVD deck. Playlist operation allows recording of desired clips directly to DVD with the voluntary DVD burner, or directly to VHS or other analog input devices with the S-Video or Composite video production for perfect copies every time.

Hard-Disk Protection and Stability
A challenge in guileful and building a hard-disk camcorder is protecting the disk from shocks and vibrations. One way this is done in the Everio G camcorders is through a inimitable floating suspension system that effectively dampens vibrations through advanced polymer stagger absorbers. Another security measure familiar to notebook PC users is its significance-like force sensor system that automatically senses sudden intensification such as in a free fall situation, and turns off the power to defend the hard disk so that a first crash can be avoided in many cases even when the unit is dropped.

Confirm unconsumed disk capacity and other details with the GZ-MG20's intuitive graphical display.

Customer Reviews

Not bad, plainly well worth the price I paid.
First off, I call for to say that the camera shoots pretty good footage outdoors, not at all striking quality, but passable for just archiving personal footage. Indoors is another story, out of the box the low-light conditions pretty much blacked out the playback.

After researching, and shifting settings, with help from a review on a similar camera, the indoors personification is pretty good. With the lenses and filters I purchased for this it actually has it to a B-. What I did was set it to M procedure, shutter speed to 1/30 and set it to cloudy. You can also gain up while in this mode for a brighter painting, but it does add some grain.

The hard drive is so easy and convenient. I didn't bother installing any of the included software because I use Sony Vegas to reorder video. Sony Vegas doesn't recognize the MOD format the video files are saved in, so again I did a few minutes of enquiry to find out that you can simple highlight the MOD part of the file name/extension, backspace 3 times and exemplar MPG. This instantly converts it to MPG format, which Vegas and all of my other playback programs accept.

Sound is great, for a built in speaker it was almost one of the best I've heard on a intelligible video camera. The lense comes with threads to attach deviant-angle lenses, and filters to make the picture even better... all in a camera a short over 5 inches long!

I was really pleased with this camera, and recommend it to anyone who unqualifiedly needs a good camera, but nothing extravagant- for people who rarely use it. It takes a few minutes of tweaking to get it sort out indoors, but most cameras aren't cut and dry to begin with.

JVC Does Not Policy Behind Their Products - JVC Lemoncorder
I approve of with the many other users who have experienced the "Condensation, Operation Paused" defect on their JVC GR-XXX. In spite of numerous others reporting this problem, JVC says its not a recognized problem. I would fall out - it is a recognized problem, but its your problem, not theirs.
Lover love LOVE it!
The 5 chief reasons I purchased this camcorder:
1) Size. It's barely larger than a can of soda!!!
2) Hard drive. Satisfactory not to not ever have to buy blank tapes or discs.
3) Ease of use. The controls are well designed. Had most everything figured out in no period.
4) Downloading to the computer is a breeze.
5) Reviews from other owners. Everyone seems to like it for the most part.

Very happy with my acquire!

Fair good camera for trips, you need a better battery though
The distinction is awesome, the ergonomics is just super (the four way stick in the LCD for starters), the haul capabilities are nice (just plug it in to ANY PC and it becomes an external hard drive with video files, although you have to rename the .MOD to .MPG), and the zoom/put together rate is great. (Upto 32X optical and .5-4000 fps - this is really opportune for shooting as you like).

For those who complain about the grainy stuff, try changing the structure rate yourself - lower frame rate for poorer lighting equip (so that the poor lighting gets registered on the CCD more slowly but rigidly), or vary the white balance. I have had very little lighting problems , and that too only when shooting at in the end bad lighting conditions (in night for eg)...

Other than that, the camera is perfect for trips; it's remarkable to see that the product turns out to be as good and heavenly as it was advertised.. for the first time.

Some intimate gripes (from the stand point of a HDD camcorder), are that you can't record from a video roots directly :D, and that you need to wait for 4 seconds before you can start recording after switching it on (it shows the same JVC dash every time, possibly to warm up the HDD meanwhile), and that you need to recharge it often if you are shooting it with the provided mobile. If you can add 90$ more the 4 hour battery will make this cam one of the best. Also the digital stills are like crap; I unaccommodating 640x480 stills, worse than the ones in the cell phones.

But the comprehensive thing is that you can shoot the videos and then transfer and burn them to your DVDs.. the complication is, with such a camcorder you would want to shoot everything that moves and is colorful and waste the 20GB before you know it enough...

I have owned a JVC VCR way back, and it was pretty good too, and that made my judgement about a industry first HDD camcorder from JVC...
JVC Video Camera
When we received the camera, it had been in days of yore used. We were initially given a run-around, but Amazon gave us a good gloss over on the camera that made us happy. They couldn't replace it with a new one. The camera seems to have a sharp fill someone in and excellent sound. It is amazingly small. It seems like a great pick for general home video. The software is a little daunting. Issue directions very carefully. The freedom from tapes and discs is nice publicize... will also run longer w/o interruption to change discs or tapes.

Sham junk
I've been very dissatisfied by this camera. I bought it largely based on good on-line reviews. I'm on my more recent one. I bought it from Circuit City in 2007. The first one had a broken display. Returned it and got a deficient one. The second one worked okay for 5 of 6 months but then I began having hindrance getting stuff to transfer to the PC--I'd get error messages about the drive failing. At the end of the day it got to the point where I can't record either. I've reinitialized the drive many times at this point and it's just no longer usable.

Compared to my old mini-DV-recording Sony, this camera is flimsily built, all-susceptible and I cannot imagine it taking even the slightest abuse. AFAIC...plastic throw away. Let the buyer beware.
Perilous camcorder
I'm very appropriate with it. The picture quality is great and it's easy to transfer recordings to my laptop to blacken DVDs or edit. A fine camera.

Grand while it lasted
I purchased this camera in December of 2005 to use to CV the milestones of my then 6 month old son. I ended up using it sparingly, as the mobile would drain quickly while not being used, so everytime I went to use it, I had to remember to care it up. But that's not that uncommon with rechargeable batteries, so I got used to it.

The biggist issue that 22 months after I bought it (Halloween 2007), I went to accomplishment my son for Halloween and got an error message that said "Lens Cap", even though the lens cap was not on the camera. With a bit of online investigate, I came to find out that this was a problem with the CCD (the image sensor, I believe) and it was a known puzzle with JVC models and JVC was replacing/repairing units with specific model numbers. However, this paragon was not on the list, even though I found dozens of postings on line from people with the same problem with this camera. I was gifted to convince JVC to provide a free evaluation of the problem (they tyically require $60). It was the optical block (of which the CCD is a part, so I'm not totally convinced it wasn't the CCD all along). They quoted over $280 for the fix up. When I told them not to do it and to send the unit back as the repair is too expensive, they immediately lowered the figure to $190 - a little sketchy in my mind. But, I went ahead with the fettle. I haven't yet used the repaired unit, but will shortly as our second laddie is due in days.

I would recommend staying away from JVC as I don't feel I was dealt with positively and evenly in this manner. Even though they did the free evaluation, I think the issue with the CCD is something they should have handled at no outlay, since it was such a wide-spread problem. And the negotiating on the repair cost is harmonious sketchy for a company the size of JVC - I expect that from a local yokel. I look for JVC to quote me the best price they can acheive.
Wholesome Quality for the price....
This camera has worked unusually well. I use it often in a Gym videoing High School Basketball and the lighting in a gym has not been a problem and been very sharp...

I do wish it had a night vision capability... it would help in surely low lighting situations... The Zoom button is hard to get if you have big hands... but not a unresponsive for me..

Overall a very good camera...
MY JVCEVERIO MG40 AS AN Sage CAMERA USER. EVEN TOOK COURSE IN COLLEGE
I GIVE 2 POINTS AS I CANNOT Entry MY VIDEO FOOTAGE TO COMMENT ON QUALITY. THE CAMERA IS EASY TO Release. IT IS LIKE ALL OTHER CAMCORDERS. THE PRINT ON THE CAMERA IS VERY DIFFICULT TO READ EVEN WITH Spectacles. I AM NO TECHNOPEASANT BY ANY MEANS. I HAVE READ AND REREAD THE INSTRUCTIONS. I CAN NOT GET THE CAMERA TO REWIND OR PLAYBACK. I CALLED JVC. YESTERDAY I WAS ON Extend FOR 45 MIN. WHEN A FEMALE PICKS UP THE PHONE, SAYS, I THINK! CALL BACK TOMORROW AND SLAMMED THE PHONE DOWN. I TRIED FOR HOURS TODAY TO GET THROUGH, EVEN TO GET THROUGH TO AN Finagler. NO LUCK, JVC SUCKS. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE 2ND BIGGEST CONSIDERATION YOU SHOULD TAKE ONCE YOU Umpire fix TO BUY AN EXPENSIVE PRODUCT. WITHOUT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE HOW CAN WE GET OPERATION INFORMATION WHEN Pirate IS NEEDED . THINK ABOUT IT! WON'T YOU!
works ok but...
This camera is casually to operate but when it comes to getting the footage on the camera turned into a DVD it is not so tranquil. I am a fairly comfortable and experienced computer user but not an expert. The software included has very scarce instructions. For example it says "never plug the camera into the computer while the camera is turned on". Later it says "don't ever in succession the camera on or off with it plugged into the computer". Hmmm, this makes it awfully hard to transfer files! An email to JVC patron service received no reply!

Then the files come in multiple folders with odd names and extensions. The non-fulfilment file names are actually hexadecimal numbers! Good earl! How about using date and time instead?

It's not clear if I can just conserve the .MOD files and delete the rest or not. Then when I burn files to DVD's they invariably have skips, even though when I spotlight them on my computer they look great. Maybe this isn't the camera's fault, maybe my DVD's are tatty. Regardless i may find myself playing the camera back onto my TV and recording simultaneously onto VHS tapes if I can't twig it all out!! At this point I have lots of nice videos on my hard drive with weird names and no DVD's that I can merrymaking on my TV!
Ardent little camera, but night shooting a little grainy.
I absolutely like the long record time of this camera. I bought this camera for my mistake to Europe, and it was great. It's small, yet powerful. I could record off and on for days before having to chuck out the movies on my laptop. I would suggest getting a second battery, preferably the 3 hour. The 5 hour is almost the measurements of the camcorder itself, and made it heavier.

It was hard to find a case that is small enough for it, yet big enough to hold extra choke like batteries. I bought the: CASE LOGIC TSC-4BLUE Gambol Compact Camcorder Case. It doesn't even look like a camcorder instance, which I also like.

The software that comes with it takes some getting used to, but I call to mind a consider it works well.
Night recording is a little grainy, but not too bad. I love that it has a far-reaching screen option. The stability software works well; the hand shaking is greatly reduced.
I don't like the attribute of the still pictures it takes, but I have a separate 8mp camera.

Very Profitable Camera (except for the MOD file)
JVC everio GZ330 is a very tolerable camera.. everything is A ok except for the video output file it creates, the MOD files (which is in point of fact an MPG file). Users of JVC don't really understand the need for this kind of suitableness file by JVC. Why can't they just make the CLIENTS'/USERS' life easier by when creating an MPG file? SOMETHING REALLY HARD TO COMPREHEND.

IT REALY DOES TAKE While TO RENAME EACH AND EVERY VIDEO YOU TAKE YOU KNOW.
