Description
The DZMV580A camcorder represents a mutiny to create home movies. Record directly to DVD-R, finalize and separate the disc from the camcorder and play it on any standard DVD player. Record in 16x9 angle mode on DVD-RAM discs and new Quick Mode menu for easy function. No need for fast-forwarding and rewinding with direct access to recorded scenes. The exorbitant resolution of the MegaPixel CCD chip far exceeds that required for high-distinction video, and enables high-resolution still photos. These cameras publicize high quality optics with multi-coated lens elements for optimal metaphor contrast and color accuracy.Customer Reviews
I WILL NOT BUY ANY HITACHI Manufacturer ANYMOREI bought Hitachi DZ-MV350A(NTSC). It does show errors a lot for any persuade and we couldn't watch on our dvd player after finalized. It wasn't easy to direct and and copy to another dvd-r. I did go crazy to understand how to operate and what to do (even after reading the manual several times).
An strikingly digital camera not necessary with this baby
While I receive the processing software was slightly annoying initially, we've been completely satified since consecration. Being able to store it all on the computer as a secondary back up to the disks is a relief too as disks are too subtle for my tastes as the only means of holding precious keepsake photos and videos.
We've had no software glitches or disk/reveal all initializing problems.
I do not understand why so many other reviewers also have a digital camera. With my Hitachi I can, with a flick of my thumb, interchange from video to photo without jiggling the camcorder in the slightest. The photo drawn in allows the user to take up to 3,500 "fine" quality pictures on a separate 512mb card. I have stood on the lake bank taking pictures with my Hitachi 200-300 feet out, zoomed in on the row-boat, and caught a close up still of my 4 year old grandson reeling in one of his first fish in such fantistic detail to where you can even see the fishing strip! Why would anyone want to have to lug around an extra digital camera when this one does it all? Beyond me.
IT is a Excess Camera
I already paid for a sony dvd camera but when I tested it and gave it some injury with the functions,it was so bad. Then the salesman gave me this HITACHI dvd camera.I tried it and tested it.It was astounding and gave it some test too. It was clear and stable. It was worth every penny.Though, some persons still find the brand name Hitachi to be unpopular. If you look at the products of this company it may be considered as grand end compared with the more mass or consumer famous brands.I will give this camera a rise of 5. I did not regret returning the sony and paying more for this camera. It was very usefulness it.
One drawback though, I am using mac. This media or Hitachi dvd cam is not compatible with Mac.My only wish is that someone be able to calculate a software that will make this camera compatible with Mac. I hope HITACHI will make that exploit to create a software for Mac.
Someone was complaining about sticking with analog and unable to skylarking this on some player.Well, part of the reason why they are complaining is ingnorance.Read the manual first and ad lib around with your camera. Teach yourself on how to be part of a new generation.Probably once you fully comprehend how it works, you will perceive it even more.Consider it like a new trick for an old dog. This camera is worth every penny.
Don't buy this
I was swayed by the indicate of playing a burned DVD right out of camera. and now I wish I had stuck to my old analog Video (Hitachi) which never gave me any anguish.
It's the DVDs that are full of errors. I went to Europe with this camera and out of 8 disks , 6 could not be present!! Worst still they can not be played straight on DVD.
Do not waste your money on this, instead buy a cheaper miniDV camera.
5* for Camera, 1* for the Software.
I bought the camera in January '05 for a stumble abroad. Filmed 5 DVD-RAM disks over the following 3 weeks and absolutely loved the camera. The sketch is very good, the sound sensitivity is excellent and the low light capability is splendid. Definitely plan to have 2 batteries... this may even not be sufficient for several hours of focused use.
The problems arose when I came home and tried to edit the recordings... I ran into endorse issues with the supplied software, so bought DVD editing and recording software to use in lieu of that which came with the camera.
In knee-breeches, the camera uses a USB cable to transfer video to the HDD, and ALL the software I tried is inconsistent with this process. In all, I successively bought Easy Media Creator 7.0, Nero 6, MyDVD 6 and Sony... not one of which could I get to buttress my video transfer. And even worse, once installed, each of these packages then blocks your faculty to use the originally provided editing software, as it then can't access the camera!
Now, I have uninstalled all of the purchased software and have reconcilled myself to using the provided materials. It is indubitably OK, but frustrating. Further, I never found any mention in the literature, on the support pages, or otherwise, of the incompatibality between camera and commercial software. In factors, some software specifically says it supports USB transfer, but only later do you originate the software only supports still picture transfer by USB... hardly of value with a video camera.
So... the camera is truly nice but plan to use the supplied software...
