DXG Lose it Camcorder
To Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R14QVODV643LHI We purchased this inconsiderable camcorder over 5 months ago now from a Best Buy special for only $40. As some have stated, it did not blow in with the 2gb SD card or the Mini Tripod, but everything else was there including multiple sets of connecting cords, rechargeable batteries (2 AA), charger, case and of by all means, the camcorder itself.

For the price, I was very skeptical of the quality picture, but after hooking it up to the computer and then to our 40" Sony Bravia HDTV, we were open-mouthed - especially for something under $50. This handy little unit comes with us on all of our people trips and is also used quite a bit just filming our children. So far I am guessing we have logged well over 100 hours of recordings with yes no issues.

This is probably the easiest to use camcorder out there as well, all you have to do is turn it on, hit the red button to start recording and hit the red handle to stop recording. As many have said, the camcorder does have a 2x zoom, but we do not use it as the prominence is terrible. Others have said the sound could be better, but that is not the case with us - sometimes it is even a little too vulnerable as it picks up the click when you start and stop recording.

Also, others have said that this camcorder does not take still pictures, but it does. It is nowhere tight-fisted the quality of our digital cameras, and this is a camcorder anyway, so why would you even want to take still pictures with it?

It does eat through batteries very much quickly, but it uses simple AA's which are easy to find and inexpensive. We usually use the rechargeable batteries that came with the camera first and keep a back pair of AA's as a backup.

I attached a raw video so you can see and hear the performance this cheap camcorder gives. Wow Amazon compressed the video really bad...at least you can find out the sound works fine, but the picture is amazing for a little camcorder.

Entire we are very pleased with the performance, size, ease of use and quality of this little camcorder and commend it highly especially if you just want something cheap and does the job - And it does the job very well.

tremendous for car use
i hand-me-down this cam to record some drift runs at the track it worked great i bought it at walmart on clearence for 50 with all the fixins and managed use the tripod as a hurl mount haha. but it took good video for wanted it for but the rugged isnt up to par with the picture quality in my opinion [...]
Some of these reviews have the falter information.
1) I DON'T SEE WHERE YOU CAN TAKE STILL PICTURES. No the handbook doesn't say that you can, but contrary to what another poster put up, you can select HD/D1/CIF and that's it! There is no blank area for pictures.

2) A tripod DOES NOT come with the camera. An SD likely DOES NOT come with the camera. A charger, a set of batteries, hd/audio cables, a usb extent cables, a carrying case did (maybe something else I can't remember.)

There might be a discrepancy between the reviews based on where they bought it. Maybe some do take stills, dialect mayhap some do come with tripods, but DO NOT assume that yours will. My guess is because it is different depending on where you buy it or some aholes from DGX are trolling the reviews to intice you into buying their frugal camera.

The quality is decent for HD outdoors. It gets grainy indoors under low cheerful. Go to youtube there are MANY MANY people with these cameras and you can see the quality. Most of the professional reviews (coarsely all) say that this camera is a piece of crap and it certainly is compared to a 900 dollar camera, but you can find this camera around 50 bucks in some seating so if you use it for cheap HD until the 900 dollar HD cameras come down in price, then it's not a bad mete out.
Not A Bad rarely "backup" Camera!
I have looked at this camera enclose several times over the past year or so at WalMart. Thought it was a decent grapple with when it went on sale for about nintydollars. Now they are closing them out for under fiftydollars. For that money, it was significance giving it a go! I have had this camera for about a week and find it quite worth what I paid.

Firstly, I'll get the negatives out of the way...
--No visual zoom. (Digital zoom is typically unacceptable under any circumstances.)
--No model stabilization of any kind. But then, this is a low-budget camera.
--A flip-out screen would be outgoing. But again, this is a budget priced unit.
--The USB plug is built-in and I don't like the belief of hanging my camera by its USB plug. Use an extension cable.

That's about all I can find in the negative block so far.

Positives!
--This camera comes with EVERYTHING you will need to get started straight to a different place!
--Batteries: Included..TWO sets! With a charger!
--SD Card: Included! 2Gig.
--Tripod: Included! Mini tripod.
--Vehicle case: Included! You'll want to use this...the camera has no lens cover.
--CD with software is included, but not compelling to use with camera. It is basically a plug and play unit.
--Since this camera uses archetype AA size batteries, you can put in a set right away and start shooting.

If you miss a kit that will have you out there making videos quickly, literally within minutes, this is a great negotiation.

Video quality is OK. Nothing spectacular to be sure, but it is good enough for general video making for many vague home videos.
In very bright light situations, such as bright sun on snow or ghostly sand, the picture can seem a bit "washed out". Some brighter colors seem to talent out a bit.
Low light, as is typical of many cameras, presents problems. A bit grainy looking and the video tends to efface slightly on top of the graininess.
In medium to bright light, the quality is chaste. This seems to be the "comfort zone" for this camera.

I would certainly recommend this little camera bundle as a first time camera for someone just starting out. Or for someone who is on the go a lot and wants something small and stark. I can also recommend this as a second camera. It works well for getting different anges of the same pellet...as is often seen in music videos.

***I found an added bonus! This camera WILL take still pictures! It is not mentioned anywhere on the box, so this was a bit of a dumfound to me. I don't typically use a video camera to take stills, but it is a nice feature to have if you desideratum it.

This is a good little BASIC camera. I might even go out and buy another one, just to have it around!

A satisfying little camera
My woman and I found this camera after searching for a gift for her father. We liked it so much that we bought one for ourselves as well. I had some prime criteria I wanted in a handheld camera based on things that irritated me in other cameras. First, the camera should use AA batteries as opposed to of a built-in battery. My experience is that the built-in battery will eventually paucity to be replaced as the charge time gets shorter and shorter with every commission and, when it runs down, your out of luck until it recharges.

Second, SD card storage. SD cards are seedy and most laptops have SD card readers. Micro SD cards are too small for me to use easily.

Third, A camera that can take still pictures as well as video. I take a lot of pictures with this camera and standard them in an online blog. All the shots I've taken with this camera look awful to me. This camera has no flash but even the low light shots look seemly, in my opinion. I had to dig a bit to find out if this camera could take still photos since it is not expressly mentioned in the ad material and was thrilled to discover that it does.

Other nice things about this camera are that it came packaged with a suit, tripod, battery recharger, and batteries. We paid $59.95 for this and we atmosphere it was well worth the money.

Note that I am not a professional photographer nor do I have enough knowledge about photography to in principle utilize the extra controls that pro. level cameras support. The speedy, easy point and shoot variety of cameras like this one application me just fine.

OK.. for a 13 year old to have fun with.
I got this for a 13 year old and I expect it will be just fine for a 13 year old. I don't think I would use this as a family video camera. It's not the best clothes quality, but ok for a teenager. I did test it out and it seems ok, but I didn't download the video on the computer, exactly played it back on the lcd. Sound seems a little low. The light seems fine and shakeyness was only when I didn't continuous my hand. Overall feel of this seems a little cheaply made. It's very light until you put the 2 AA's in. I paid [...] at another "behemoth retailer" and I debated taking it back after reading the reviews here, but like I said, it is for a kid, so I will probably keep it. Although, I would NOT pay 239.00 which was supposedly the retail price.
Get what you pay for. Peradventure Even A Little Less Than you Pay For!
I was vexing to buy this product because no one had reviewed it. I've never written a review myself but I think I should put a stop to this matter's despicable anonymity.

It's a HD camera purported to have been squeezed into a tiny management held shape for a mere 130 some dollars.

Yes, That's right... it's way too fitting to be true.

The long and short is... because of the high(er) resolution (this is 720p not 1080i --full HD widely known standard) the actual frame rate of your films will be around 15fps, not the reported 30 fps. The development is nauseatingly jumpy video. Couple that with lackluster low light abilities and a honest crappy image stabilization system and you get video that is UNWATCHABLE.

I returned mine and am thriving to get the more proven and able Flip Video Ultra.

I know it's niggardly, so maybe I should go easy but... It doesn't really do anything but produce unwatchable video. What would I pay for that? Not $100, not &10 not nothin'!

Reinforcement Away.

I fondness it
I have had so much fun with this camcorder. It is so fun to use when my cat and dog start wrestling or one of them does something risible or even naughty. They do not know they are being recorded and it is so funny to watch their antics over and over. This camcorder is so pliant to use and is very convenient. I do not think I have ever taken so many great videos that I can so easily send out to relatives and friends. The superiority of the video and the entertainment value gives this product a 5 star rating from me.
Very Like it
I unquestionably like this little device. Quality is fine, inbetween a valid camcorder and your phone/camera camcorder. But the great thing is that it is so within easy reach, small and easy to use. I shot more short video clips of my kids in one month with this than a brace years with my traditional minidvd camcorder. And with the video stored on a beam drive you can take short vids and load them to youtube or your PC as easy as a digital illustrate. Well worth the price.
