When Terracotta J. Dumaw mentioned that he planned to make a flick picture show, the rolling started, and it wasn’t the cameras.

It was the eyes of the doubters.

“Some populace said ‘That’s really unsympathetic,’” Mr. Dumaw said. “Others would ridicule in my face. Seventy five percent of the people I told exactly kind of laughed it off.”

They may have wondered how this 2007 graduate of Carthage Significant High School, who didn’t go to peel school and works in loss prevention at Watertown’s Defeat Buy, would find the resources to write and film a feature-duration movie. But his energy and love of the movie deceit made up for any film-school shortcomings.

This past summer, the unchangeable scenes were shot for “Get Out Alive,” which references themes from dread films like “Friday the 13th,” “The Texas Fetter Saw Massacre” and “The Hills Have Eyes.” He worked on as good as everything alone, including concept art, storyboards, location scouting, budgeting and casting.
