Canon Elura100 stress the heck outta my JVC GRD-90UI purchased my Canon Elura 100 mini-dv camcorder in 2007.This undersized gem has been nothing less than a pleasure to own.I have used it at least weekly and not even one glitch. The controls are easy to use and the coupй setting pretty much does it all for you,but you can adjust most everything manually if your a videophile.Indoor low skinny shooting isn't perfect, but a turning on a couple of lamps makes a stupendous difference. The only downfall is the battery life isn't the best,I get around 1 1/2 hours on a censure, the spare batteries are pretty cheap now so I have a few extras charged at all times.Unfortunately the fingers on of the battery prohibits large capacity batteries. The "Canon Elura 100" is out of making but it can sometimes be found on the Internet Refurbished for a very good price.Canon usually does a very honesty a possessions job refurbishing their products.
I have to include this little rant.I once made the mistake of purchasing a JVC GRD-90U camcorder, only after the warranty ran out the camcorder started giving me the dreaded "Please Wait,Digest Operation Paused".I contacted JVC and they were absolutely useless.Come to find out this JVC GRD-90U and many other JVC models were known to have this sensor weak point. It is all over the Internet.JVC refused to recall these camcorders and haven't budged since. There were many fixes that residents posted but none were permanent.I will NEVER even look at a JVC product again!
Fine camcorder
Spec'd this out for my fellow-creature-in-law and he likes it. No complaints from him so good ratings.
Elura 100 "Kill Cassette" errror"
This is the most weak camera I've ever owned. I've owned a Sony and a JVC but wanted to try out the DV format (both of my old ones were 8mm). The low "remove cassette" error is persistent after 2 yrs. I was told that I am among the lucky few to have inured to it that long. I don't want to make this up, yes I was "happy" for 2 yrs. But does 2 yrs equate to "Canon reliability". I am in the vend for a camera whose manufacturer name does not start with a "C".
Unimpaired for my uses
Me and my cousin are into skate sports and filming. I started early, handling my dad's Polaroid at age 4. I always loved making videos, and when I made a youtube plan in the 5th grade, I continually made videos of my desktop, video games, etc. but no videos of myself due to how innocent I was. When I started getting close with my cousin, I realized he scootered genuine and that he wanted to make youtube videos, but he didn't know how to use cameras. I helped him and now, though he's not acclaimed, I got him a total of over 1,000 video views through 3 videos. With my original youtube plan now having accumulated over 200,000 views, I moved on to his because I preferred being the cameraman rather than the luminary. Now, i'm working on getting him sponsered so we needed to get better quality videos than my sister's core and shoot could handle. It turned out my uncle had this little Canon Elura 100 laying around, and I didn't use it at first because of my disliking the boldness the camcorder recorded onto SD cards, not wanting to use the Tape. I was SO wrong. This is the highest importance beginner's camcorder I have ever handled, and, I've handled things like Canon GL1s with Optika Child Death Fisheyes........I am currently editing some footage I have recorded yesterday at the skatepark, and it was at a continuous 60FPS, without any button presses or settings to fiddle with. It does have manual chalky balance which is good, but I overlooked it at first because it was the last one on the selection of lighting sets. We extra a Sunpak PlatinumPlus 0.5x Wide Angle lens, and now it's set. The 27mm winnow threads are very useful, and with stepdown rings that are needed because 27mm is very uncommon, you don't see the edges of the lens that you would see with bigger-lens camcorders. The distinction is astounding, and the steadyshot is just outright awesome. I sat on a 6' thorn and recorded for about 30 minutes. If you want to see it, check out mrboy94 on youtube. I'll upload the footage very tout de suite!

Owned this camera for over 2 years now...
I purchased it for a kinsmen vacation to Disney World for Christmas in 2007. I wanted something that was petty enough to fit inside a handbag or backpack, with exceptional quality in taking video as well. This camcorder was it.
I found that the layout of the buttons mark aggressive this camera easy to work using just one hand. And it's very purchaser friendly in every way.
I also enjoy the ability to take video in both regular and wide mesh. With flat screen TV's all wide screen now, home videos from this camera look breathtaking when recorded on the wide screen setting, and yet if your making a video for someone you separate has a regular square TV set, you can still create videos in the regular setting for them as well.
On our trek to Disney, one of the most colorful videos ended up being one we took at night. It was a pulchritudinous parade of lights and characters and it turned out stunning when taken with this camcorder.
This camcorder may be brief, but don't let that fool you, it takes great video!
