It has problems...This is a very worth little camera as long as you are taking outdoor video!!! Indoors (even with lights on) the perfect example inform looks black and white, or completely dark. But if you are taking open-air video it truly does look HD with fantastic picture superiority. The auto focus is slow, and sometimes gives me a headache watching playback because it takes a instant to focus whenever the camera is slightly moved.
The BIGGEST problem that I had with this camera is that it is not in accord with any DVD Burning program that is on my computer. (Windows Movie Maker, etc.) I bought this camera to smoulder the movies to DVDs and watch on my DVD player. And this is extremely difficult. They do give you a program to upload onto your computer for this, but it is VERY Toilsome to get the hang of, and I really don't know how anyone who isn't extremely computer savvy would be able to bod it out. Anyway, it takes good video in the daylight.
OK for low-end camcorder
Cons:
I had to earnings the one I received due to the battery not powering up the unit. The battery was supposed to be skilled to be charged inside the unit, but there was a failure of some kind in that as well. The video I was masterful to take was on the grainy side (indoors: maybe not enough light).
Pros:
When I called Aiptek bear to discuss the battery issue, I talked to someone in CA (and they spoke excellent English). After a few checks we undisputed that it definitely was the battery. Anyway, very satisfied with Aiptek's support. And the unit did seem to operate justly when it was plugged into a 110 AC power outlet.
Other thoughts:
Had the battery worked, I would have kept the element. Also, since the time I purchased it, my camcorder budget is 4 to 5 times larger (have a mean of the middle unit ordered). All in all I believe the Aiptek A-HD Pro 1080p is a good camcorder for under $150 (excursion from the battery issue I had).
HD camcorder on a budget
Be prepared Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RB6UXJ4XHUXIL Overall, a very subtle camera that's easy to use. Love the picture quality, the size of the camera, and it's SD notch. I suggest you use a class 6 card of at least 4gb. I have an 8gb card and it holds approximately 3+ hours of 720p 60fps footage. The stills are splendid and you have the option of shooting stills in 3/5/8mp.
The only thing I don't like is the in point of fact that it saves videos in .mov files. Another reviewer had stated that simply shifting the file name would work, but it didn't work for me and I had to do the time consuming chore of converting the file on my PC. However, on my husband's Mac, the camera is completely plug & take up and I was able to make a movie on iMovie. I wasn't able to upload the flick picture show in HD to YouTube for some reason when I used iMovie. Also, if you just decide to upload a talkie straight to YouTube from your camera without editing it, you can upload directly to YouTube without trade-in and then once it's processed, you can download the file from YouTube in an mp4 format. So, essentially, your using YouTube to transmogrify the file for you. Indoor filming is less than desired (as it is with most pocket camcorders), but there is a "gloaming shot" mode which helps out a bit. In my personal opinion, shooting in 720p 60fps is virtuous as great a video quality as 1080p and my personal favorite. My camera came with the widely spread life battery and so it lasts for over 2 hours which is really nice and I attraction that it's rechargeable. Another con: There's no lens cover, but I read somewhere about rigging one up with the ring on the top of a one gallon jug (??). I may give it a try.
For the outlay, you really can't expect too much, but overall, this is a pretty slick little budget HD camcorder.
This video was projectile with 720p 60fps under normal conditions with no wind and no external mic.
Finery Video Camera for $150 Simple to use.
Honestly HD camera that shoots 1080p at 30fps or 720p at 60fps. Great action shots and very hot for outdoor bright light settings. I have 2 other Camcorders that I have given aways since I got this camera over 1 year ago. Gentle downside is that you do need good lighting.
YOU CAN NOT beat the price $150. Even 1 year later when looking at all the other Video Cameras out there, this camera is still the kindest. I almost purchased a Flip Video HD instead of this one, but I am SOOOO glad I kept this one a substitute alternatively because the full 1080p is great and the Removable SD card is a must.
Pros:
$150 come on this is a pinch for this HD technology
Works perfectly with Imovie
1080p at 30fps (great detail) or 720p at 60fps (proficient action shots).
Durable and solid feeling.
Easy to use.
Exemplar SD card (does not really need the higher class cards to / well).
Decent to very good photos.
Cons:
Basic features
Weaker Jiffy (ok for photos - does not work well with video).
Needs Higher Lighting
Lens Distinct is slightly narrowed (need to stand slightly farther for same behold).
Video needs to be loaded on computer or SD Video adaptor to view in steady HD.
Cords accompaning Camera are in 480p
HOWEVER, the images and video are Unswerving SHARP HD.
People can complain that this is not the best camera and it lacks features or the set level needed should be more. However, WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR $150????? This truly is the best Video Camera out there for the Guerdon and simplicity. Much better than Flip Video.
Nonpareil Media Quality
Major video and image quality. Nothing more to say about that. The only problem I have is with the housing. It scratches too certainly and there is no lens cap. That really got me riled. However, at the price it is going for, it's worth it. Honourable give it a little care. Mac users rejoice! Just plug and exploit!
