It has problems...
This is a very worth little camera as long as you are taking outdoor video!!! Indoors (even with lights on) the perfect example inform looks black and white, or completely dark. But if you are taking open-air video it truly does look HD with fantastic picture superiority. The auto focus is slow, and sometimes gives me a headache watching playback because it takes a instant to focus whenever the camera is slightly moved.

The BIGGEST problem that I had with this camera is that it is not in accord with any DVD Burning program that is on my computer. (Windows Movie Maker, etc.) I bought this camera to smoulder the movies to DVDs and watch on my DVD player. And this is extremely difficult. They do give you a program to upload onto your computer for this, but it is VERY Toilsome to get the hang of, and I really don't know how anyone who isn't extremely computer savvy would be able to bod it out. Anyway, it takes good video in the daylight.
OK for low-end camcorder
Cons:
I had to earnings the one I received due to the battery not powering up the unit. The battery was supposed to be skilled to be charged inside the unit, but there was a failure of some kind in that as well. The video I was masterful to take was on the grainy side (indoors: maybe not enough light).

Pros:
When I called Aiptek bear to discuss the battery issue, I talked to someone in CA (and they spoke excellent English). After a few checks we undisputed that it definitely was the battery. Anyway, very satisfied with Aiptek's support. And the unit did seem to operate justly when it was plugged into a 110 AC power outlet.

Other thoughts:
Had the battery worked, I would have kept the element. Also, since the time I purchased it, my camcorder budget is 4 to 5 times larger (have a mean of the middle unit ordered). All in all I believe the Aiptek A-HD Pro 1080p is a good camcorder for under $150 (excursion from the battery issue I had).
HD camcorder on a budget
Be prepared Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RB6UXJ4XHUXIL Overall, a very subtle camera that's easy to use. Love the picture quality, the size of the camera, and it's SD notch. I suggest you use a class 6 card of at least 4gb. I have an 8gb card and it holds approximately 3+ hours of 720p 60fps footage. The stills are splendid and you have the option of shooting stills in 3/5/8mp.

The only thing I don't like is the in point of fact that it saves videos in .mov files. Another reviewer had stated that simply shifting the file name would work, but it didn't work for me and I had to do the time consuming chore of converting the file on my PC. However, on my husband's Mac, the camera is completely plug & take up and I was able to make a movie on iMovie. I wasn't able to upload the flick picture show in HD to YouTube for some reason when I used iMovie. Also, if you just decide to upload a talkie straight to YouTube from your camera without editing it, you can upload directly to YouTube without trade-in and then once it's processed, you can download the file from YouTube in an mp4 format. So, essentially, your using YouTube to transmogrify the file for you. Indoor filming is less than desired (as it is with most pocket camcorders), but there is a "gloaming shot" mode which helps out a bit. In my personal opinion, shooting in 720p 60fps is virtuous as great a video quality as 1080p and my personal favorite. My camera came with the widely spread life battery and so it lasts for over 2 hours which is really nice and I attraction that it's rechargeable. Another con: There's no lens cover, but I read somewhere about rigging one up with the ring on the top of a one gallon jug (??). I may give it a try.

For the outlay, you really can't expect too much, but overall, this is a pretty slick little budget HD camcorder.

This video was projectile with 720p 60fps under normal conditions with no wind and no external mic.
Finery Video Camera for $150 Simple to use.
Honestly HD camera that shoots 1080p at 30fps or 720p at 60fps. Great action shots and very hot for outdoor bright light settings. I have 2 other Camcorders that I have given aways since I got this camera over 1 year ago. Gentle downside is that you do need good lighting.

YOU CAN NOT beat the price $150. Even 1 year later when looking at all the other Video Cameras out there, this camera is still the kindest. I almost purchased a Flip Video HD instead of this one, but I am SOOOO glad I kept this one a substitute alternatively because the full 1080p is great and the Removable SD card is a must.

Pros:
$150 come on this is a pinch for this HD technology
Works perfectly with Imovie
1080p at 30fps (great detail) or 720p at 60fps (proficient action shots).
Durable and solid feeling.
Easy to use.
Exemplar SD card (does not really need the higher class cards to / well).
Decent to very good photos.

Cons:
Basic features
Weaker Jiffy (ok for photos - does not work well with video).
Needs Higher Lighting
Lens Distinct is slightly narrowed (need to stand slightly farther for same behold).

Video needs to be loaded on computer or SD Video adaptor to view in steady HD.
Cords accompaning Camera are in 480p
HOWEVER, the images and video are Unswerving SHARP HD.

People can complain that this is not the best camera and it lacks features or the set level needed should be more. However, WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR $150????? This truly is the best Video Camera out there for the Guerdon and simplicity. Much better than Flip Video.

Nonpareil Media Quality
Major video and image quality. Nothing more to say about that. The only problem I have is with the housing. It scratches too certainly and there is no lens cap. That really got me riled. However, at the price it is going for, it's worth it. Honourable give it a little care. Mac users rejoice! Just plug and exploit!

Out-and-out Value, but the auto focus....
This is a superlative product, with a great value at low cost. But it has a big focus problem, bewitching a lot of time to adjust the auto-focus. When I make a zoom (even-handed a little touch or complete zoom) it takes several seconds to mediate, and those seconds are really important in the continous film.
This AIPTEK camcorder is a categorically good one
We are using this camcorder in our studio's labour, and it gives a perfect picture, we have bought several of these camcorders already. two problems - too underfunded life of the battery (less than an hour) and it records voices in not so good standing. However, the sound is still good enough, and also it is possible to use an external microphone. Highly exhort this type of camcorder!
Very bad indoor incarnation (dark and grainy), and bad sound quality
I purchased it about a year ago, most of all for recording indoor activity (dancing). I saw the reviews reporting destitute indoor performance but also saw a clip on youtube taken indoor (in a basketball auditorium, flooded with light...) and it looked good.

So i bought it and found the video entranced indoor comes grainy and dark. If i can flood the room with dainty then it's ok but in most situations i have no control over lighting, and even though the lighting seems reasonable to me - the video comes unacceptably base and grainy (i played with all different settings of the camera).

The only way i found was to use the "night standard operating procedure" feature in the settings. However, this causes blurriness. Well, better blurry than arcane and grainy but it's not much of a consolation.

The sound quality of the built in mic is also extremely sad. Haven't checked external one.

I regret buying this camera. Before this one i second-hand to take clips with my 4 years old phone camera (LG env, 320x240) and the distinction of the indoor picture and sound are much better.

Outdoor picture worth is reasonable. Sound still bad.

Works consummate for me
I was looking for a video camera that would be serenely to use for recording an interview with aging parents: Something for the younger generations to have to reward great-grandparents in their own words. I am not experienced with this type of thing, ad I wanted something that had proficiency for external mic. This one had a good directional mic built-in, so we used that. It was not good enough or the ambient clash outdoors, but worked OK inside.
If I had it all to do again, I would use an external mic for better sound pickup.
Aiptek Strength HD GVS 1080p
The draw quality is great for the price and sound is good also. If you are looking for a movables family video camera. The only thing I didn't like about this camera is that there was just any internal memory. I purchased a 4gb SDHC card after buying this camera, I liked this because it is accommodating to edit your videos on a computer with the software it comes with. Just put it in a SDHC postcard reader and import to a file.

Aipteck A-HD+ 1080P
When the camera indoors the battery wouldn't charge and it would not turn on. I purchased a new battery locally as I didn't need to mess with returning to Amazon. The new battery worked well. A single email to Aiptek was responded to at the speed of light and they have promished to replace the bad battery. The camera is very light and appears to curriculum vitae good video and the battery (not the original though) lasts much longer than I expected. The enterprise is that you must install a codec to get the video to play on Windows. The open roots ffdshow worked well for me. However, I use this camera for work and we are not allowed to install software on our conputers and thus this is my chief problem with the camera. A camera that used the standard Windows codecs would have been much more prefered.

This was purchased to make available as a video recorder for a special camera. Aiptek is the only small camera of this strain that I could find that had the required auxilary input to connect to another camera. The camera does occupation but if a bad connection occurs due to moving the cord the camera stops recording and goes back to camera vogue. Shutting down and setting up for aux input is requred to start recording again. It would be much recovered if the camera just keep recording on loss of signal. My second culmination was while the camera in normal mode can be set to a number of different quality settings from low to high settings, while recording from the aux in shifting the setting have no effect. Thus I am unable to set in the lowest resolution to minimize fill out size which is important for my application. Because of these two issue were my only reason for purchasing this camera I rated at only 3 stares. I am in fact very impressed with the camera as a small camcorder as it is it light, takes considerable video, and is easy to use.

I still hope to get this camera to work for my application as I can't find any surrogate. It would be perfect if it would record in lower resolution and it used a standard codec. It was still good trying as all other manufactures seem to have abondanded the aux in recording market. I believe most camcorder users would be advantageous with this simple camera and the price is very good. If anyone knows of a similar camcorder with aux in, please let me be acquainted with!
A marvellous camera!
This is an remarkable camera. I purchased this in December 2008 because of it was, at the time, one of the few "budget" camcorders to propose an HD image.

A couple of points: I notice that the low-light quality is much larger in the 720 mode than the 1080 mode. The files shot in 720 HD needed to be swayed for the Mac in order to edit in Final Cut. As others have noted, there is no built-in image stabilization, so it actually helps to mount this camera on a tripod. However, if held with a steady agency, it still produces a good image.

I highly recommend this product. I was astonished at the quality it is capable of, especially in situations with proper lighting.

This is the fade away I shot with the camera. It gives an idea of what this camera is capable of:

Aiptek a-hd
I Inamorata it! I use it in my classroom after a tech inservice in which it was recommended. It is handy and easy to use!
First-rate for the price
If you're looking for a tawdry video camera to record memories or what have you, look no further. While it's not something you'd use to shoot some ridiculously high-worth production, it's pretty much what most people want in a camera.

First, the good. The toll is astoundingly cheap for what you get. 1080p at 30 fps, 720p at 60. What more could you yearning? Plus the viewfinder is fairly clear, though a bit small.

The size of the section is great, and it can fit in a purse or tote bag or whatever. It's incredibly light, almost too light; it feels like there's nothing by nature it.

It creates movies in quicktime format which will make PC users blue, but if you download a program called FxBear MOV Video Converter you can proselytize the files over to AVI for free, although it takes awhile for longer videos.

It far connects to any computer as long as you have a Type A to Mini USB cord, which are cheap and found anywhere that sells electronics. You can even use your computer to fill the unit.

It's also got a voice recorder which...I dunno, I doubt I'll ever use it, but maybe some residents would think that's cool.

And now the bad. I don't know exactly how much memory the unit comes with, but it's not enough. You can get an SD condolence card for pretty cheap to grossly expand the amount of pictures/videos you can rely on on it, but it's still another expense and another trip to the store. Pick a card up when you buy that USB cable.

This id also performs terribly in low light situations. Two 60 watt bulbs in a bantam bedroom-sized room are barely enough. Outside it's fine, so prolonged as it isn't night, but if you're a ghost hunter or something look elsewhere. It has a feature called Tenebrousness Shot, but it cuts your framerate so badly it's not worth using.

It's got a poor omnidirectional mic, but if you're the kind of person who cares about that chances are you've got an external mic anyway. A few modifications could put to rights the mic shotgun-style, but only if you don't mind working with power tools and shaping clayey. And even then I can't guarantee the quality would be too good. If you're going to be doing a lot of recording in a loud area I'd suggest an external microphone. You can sync the audio to the video on a PC.

The recording radius is god-tasteless. Even at minimum zoom it looks like you're looking through a telescope. Fortunately there's a stingy lens out there that'll double the radius, but again, it's just another expense. You can check my reviews for it, I don't retain what it's called.

There's no optical zoom, but since the lens it comes with is basically the hubble abbreviate that's not too important unless you're recording at the Metrodome or something.

And finally, there's no automatic focusing. It's got two modes: fast and far. Far is anything over like three feet, so chances are you'll be in "Far mode" most of the time. It's not a big deal, but having to anger a switch any time you want to focus on something close to the camera is type of annoying. Plus even in close mode if it's closer than about a foot it'll obscure up again. Not good for recording electronic circuitry or...microbes, or whatever.

Overall I'd say if you're looking to pay out a small amount of money on a decent camera, this would be what you want. Perfect for any place that doesn't involve low light or constant dynamic zooming/focusing.
